  18. What's in the distribution?
  19. =======================================================================
  20. This distribution contains DirectDraw drivers for Voodoo Rush when 
  21. running with Alliance AT25 (AT3D). The DirectDraw portion of the 
  22. drivers supports Direct3D when using DirectX 5.0
  23.  
  24. NOTE: DirectX 5.0 redistributable files should be used with these 
  25. drivers!

  31. Requirements
  32. ------------

  34. - Windows 95
  35. - PC with a Pentium or Pentium Pro Processor and a free PCI slot
  36. - 16MB of RAM
  37.  
  38. Upgrade Existing AT25/Voodoo Rush Drivers
  39. -----------------------------------------
  40.  
  41. 1) Start Windows 95
  42. 2) Extract the files for the AT25/Voodoo Rush driver to a directory.
  43. 3) Click Start, Contol Panel.  Double-click on Display.
  44. 4) Click the settings tab
  45. 5) Click Change Display Type
  46. 6) Under Adapter Type, Click Change
  47. 7) Click Have Disk
  48. 8) You will be prompted as follows:

  50.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Enter the path to the extracted drivers
  51.  
  52.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click the Next Button, no updated
  53.                     drivers will be found.   Click on
  54.                     "Other Location" then enter the path
  55.                     to the extracted drivers.
  56.  
  57. 9) When asked to choose a device, select "Alliance 3D + Voodoo Rush"
  58. 10) You may then be prompted to insert the Windows 95 Alliance 3D + Voodoo
  59.     Rush Driver Disk.  Enter the path to the drivers again.
  60. 11) Windows will copy the drivers.   Reboot the system when prompted
  61. 12) Install DirectX 5.0

  67. Fresh Installation 
  68. ------------------

  70. NOTE: It is suggested that the extracted drivers be copied to a
  71. floppy when executing a fresh installation.
  72.  
  73. 1) Before removing your existing 2D card switch the video driver to 
  74.    Standard VGA
  75. 2) If you have an exisiting 3Dfx Voodoo based card also remove the 
  76.    following key:
  77.     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\CurrentControlSet\DirectDrawDrivers
  78. 3) Power off system and remove your existing 2D card and any Voodoo 
  79.    based cards
  80. 4) Install the AT25 and Voodoo Rush Combo Card in a free PCI Slot
  81. 5) Power on the system and verify that video appears during post
  82. 6) Start Windows 95

  84.   (Once Windows 95 starts you may be notified that no video device
  85.    exists, click Cancel if this message appears)
  86.  
  87. 7) Windows 95 will detect a new VGA Compatible Display, you need to:
  88.      Windows 95 Standard Release users: Select "Use Driver from Mfr"
  89.                                         and click OK
  90.               Windows 95 OEM SR2 users: Click the Next Button on the
  91.                                         Detection Dialog Box
  92.  
  93. 8) Insert this floppy in the A: drive and point the driver location to
  94.    A:\
  95. 9) You may then be prompted to insert the Windows 95 Alliance 3D+ Voodoo
  96.    Rush Driver Disk.  Again, enter A:\ and press OK.
  97. 10) Windows will copy the drivers from the Floppy, Reboot the system 
  98.     when prompted
  99. 11) After reboot, verify that Windows 95 runs.  If Windows 95 hangs, 
  100.     power the system off and verify that the Voodoo Rush Daughterboard
  101.     is installed correctly and is functioning.
  102. 12) Install DirectX 5.0.

  105. Limitations

  108. Running 640x480,16 Color will run SUPERVGA.DRV or VGA.DRV.  No Voodoo 
  109. Rush features will be used.  Switch to a different resolution or color depth.

  112. Troubleshooting

  117. Problem: After installing the card, the system still detects my old 
  118. card even though it is no longer in the system.
